A DIY face mask list is simply incomplete without the cucumber face mask. This face mask is one of the most basic yet powerful, effective face masks of all time.

Among the many many benefits of the cucumber, it works to hydrate, soften and relax your skin. It helps to prevent water retention and reduces swelling giving your skin a break from irritation. It is even effective for treating sun burns! I am sure the phrase ‘As Cool As Cucumber’ is making more sense to you now.

So let’s start off by creating a fairly basic cucumber mask that only requires one ingredient – CUCUMBER

Ingredients

One Cucumber

Blender

Bowl

Preparation

The key to creating a good cucumber mask is to start off by putting it in the fridge. A few hours in the fridge allows the cucumber to cool down.

Next, the application aspect is completely down to preference. You can either chop the cucumber into slices and put them on your face or you could grate the cucumber and apply it to your dry skin.

Another option is to take the cucumber and place it in a blender creating a paste of sorts. This option is more messy as the cucumber will be sliding over your face but hey whatever falls off the face can be used to creating a refreshing cucumber drink.

Make sure to avoid the eye area when placing the cucumber face mask. I normally place the DIY face mask for about 20 – 30 minutes which gives me a good excuse to lie down as well.

Once you are done, wash off the face mask with cold water and pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

Last but not least, apply moisturizer or few drops of olive oil which will help to retain the moisture.

Now that wasn’t that difficult was it? by creating your own mask, you have not only saved money but also managed to use up vegetables that were not getting used. The best bit though is that with this entire process you end up getting a bit of ‘ME’ time which is essential.
